Anytime you have problens with colors the first thing you should do is to print a nozzle test print. That will tell you if part of your printhead is clogged. It may also tell you that your ink cart is not providing the ink on demand. I assume your have already run a cleaning cycle and printed a nozzle test print so that should tell you where there is a problem. It may also be a problem in the purge unit that cleans and primes the printhead.

Took out the printhead and cleaned the contacts. In addition to the faint lines on the photo, the preview on the display before printing is too dark and the photo prints dark.
I've also tried replacing some of the ink cartridges. I'm using generic ink and it has always been satisfactory. I'm printing with Windows Photo Gallery, Picasa and Photoshop Elements. I'm not able to get Easy Photo Print to execute 'Print'.

Jjvland.If your nozzle check is OK, and you still see streaks or faded out colors in your photos, then problem could still be a partially clogged head and/or ink carts that can not sustain the demand for colors. Search on the internet for some color test charts for printers and print then in either 4x6 image or 5x7 on plain paper. This will tell you if you've got a problem with ink supply. While the nozzle test print is a great indicator of the condition of the head.it does not tell you if the ink carts can supply sufficient demand to support photo printing.
